There is an special field type that doesn't exist in drupal core and doesn't exist in contrib modules and you need it. Don't worry more about it. Do it! And, of course contribute it.
In this session we're going to learn to create a field type, with its corresponding widgets and formatters.
Also, we'll alter an existing formatter and an existing widget.
