Description of presentation

We will be talking about some the of use cases where we need to create a prototype that will be defined little by little with discovery sessions with the clients or organizations that are requesting the site but they don't have a specific idea of what they want yet as a final product. In this situation we can use the magnificent layout tool of panels to give us the idea of how to draw our prototype of our site, and then add or remove components like blocks, views results, pages depending in rules, etc. Views will be used for gathering and organizing data for our sites. The site building with views and panels definitely is a set of very powerful tools for this site building process. My personal preference would be present in Spanish.

The attendees will be able to grasp a basic knowledge of how to use Panels and Views in combination to create sites.

Experience in this matter

I have built many sites for US government organizations, non profit organizations and commercial organizations that needed very complex environments of sites and pages with many different purposes along with adding different data sets. In order to provide a feasible, extendable and maintainable solutions I have used very extensible views and panels as a masters brush to create sites, giving me a great way to add and remove and prototype solutions very quickly.

Motivation for the audience to attend to this specific session

The joy of getting the sites done with these two incredible tools is very appealing, since they can leverage a lot of functionality and make the architecture easier of any site. Looking toward the future, providing maintenance and adding new contents is just a more enjoyable task.
