Drupal 7 Multi-language hands on

This BOF is for developers of all levels interested in discussing success stories, problems, tips, and solutions for building multi-language sites on Drupal 7.

Much of the inspiration for the multi-language support now built into Drupal 8 can be attributed to a handful of hard working Drupal 7 core and contrib modules.

There is a presentation introducing multi-language support now built into the core of D8 (Drupal 8 Multilingual Hands-on) on Wednesday at 10:45am

After a lunch break, we will pick up the conversation at 1pm, to give you the opportunity to share experiences and learn about multi-language, specifically focus on what you can do today with D7.. There are many caveats and special tips and tricks to understand well before adopting Drupal 7, so come to this BOF if you want to make a more educated decision between adopting D7 or D8 for a multilingual platform.

The discussion will be lead and moderated by Alberto Arancibia, a web developer active in the Chilean Drupal community, and myself, James Wilson. We both have experience in building large-scale Drupal 7 sites that deliver content in multiple languages. Beto maintains the website for the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (http://www.cepal.org) available in Spanish and English. James works for Bluespark, a Drupal agency specializing in Travel and Higher Education sectors, working over the past 2 years overhauling TripAdvisor Insights -- a content delivery system built for TripAdvisor's B2B division, which delivers technology, trends, and travel industry insights to hotel owners and managers in >20 languages, all on Drupal 7.

We had originally planned on delivering a workshop for D7 multilanguage on Monday, but all of the spaces were filled up, thus we've decided turn this into a BOF!

The discussion will take place primarily in Spanish, but we can switch between the two languages, so everyone is welcome!
