Drupal is a wide and varied community with people from all walks of life. This can be seen clearly in the Latin American community: across many different countries and regions, we’re active, enthusiastic, and proud of it. The Latin American Drupal community comes together year round in meetings, awesome camps, and summits-- and we can’t wait to meet you at DrupalCon Latin America this February!
In the past, the Latin American Drupal community has hosted several Drupal Summits and camps that brought together a large number of developers from different parts of the region and beyond. These events have included the Drupal Camp Cartagena and Drupal Summit Latinos in places like Mexico, Ecuador, and more.
In 2013, DrupalPicchu brought together Drupal developers, site builders, themers, and hundreds of new Drupalistas from Latin America. It was a weekend of fun, learning, and building new friendships. This year, the fun continues with events like Drupal Camp Mexico and Drupal Camp Costa Rica-- two of the larger camps coming up in Latin America. And, we’re thrilled that we’re building a thriving Brazilian community as part of our efforts to foster Drupal growth and expansion in Latin America.
Our community has been growing since 2009. Latin America is home to many local groups, and our Drupalleros and Drupalistas frequently hold meet-ups across the region. We’ve found that there’s nothing better than celebrating, traveling and exploring beautiful new places with amazing people who love Drupal as much as we do.
The Latin American community’s diversity, enthusiasm for Drupal, and love of life will shine at DrupalCon Latin America, coming up in February 2014. “Come for the software, stay for the community” rings true for this event: whether you’re a themer, developer, marketing expert, or you’re just checking out Drupal for the first time, you’ll meet experts in Drupal, network and gain professional experiences from this event.
